Catching on the trend that has swept many schools nationally and internationally (from Arcadia to colleges in Scotland), Holy Family announced they will begin to offer a Three-Year Accelerated Bachelor's Program to its students in the School of Business. The program is open to students majoring in Management-Marketing, Accounting, Sports Management-Marketing, Finance, International Business, CMIS, and Business Administration.

The program would be open to full-time students only and would require participants to take 18 credits each semester, as well as 12 credits over the summer, to meet the 120 credit requirement to graduate. Students would need to maintain a 2.5 GPA for the first half of the program, and a 3.0 GPA for the remainder.

They would also need to obtain a grade of a C or better in all business classes. Students in the program who do not maintain a minimum grade point average are taken out of the program and placed in the traditional four-year program.

"It's a great opportunity for students and families trying to hold costs down to go through the program rapidly, finish earlier, and go on to grad school or work," said Jan Duggar, the Dean of the Business School.

Resident students could save up to $33,000 through the program, having to pay one less year's tuition, room & board, and time.

To qualify for the program, students must have a 3.0 GPA (2.8 for transfer and advanced placement students). The course is best suited for highly motivated students.

Students will be given to a special advisor to help schedule and monitor their progress in their 3 years. This kind of program is the first of its kind for Holy Family University.
