The Aftermath Of Our Snowstorms:
What To Do With The Snow
Toni Heffle
Issue date: 2/23/10 Section: Entertainment
School, business and life have frequently come to a standstill, as we have shoveled and trudged our way through 78+ inches of snow, thus far, and prepare for the Ides of March.
Sledding, making snowmen and snow angels and having snowball fights just doesn't seem to free us of the overabundance of snow, so Tri-Lite staff offer an alternate suggestion for disposing of the upper level of snow that is without foot traffic and Ice Melt:
Snow Cone recipe #1
4 oz. sweetened drink mix powder
3/4 cup hot water
Mix and drizzle over clean snow, and enjoy!
Snow Cone recipe # 2
2 cups sugar
3/4 cups water
1 packet Kool-Aid(any flavor)
Boil sugar & water, remove from heat. Stir in Kool-Aid, cool, and pour over snow.
Chinese Emperors may have flavored snow with fruit & honey, and Native Americans may have sweetened snow with maple syrup, while
sophisticated modern palates have created fruit sorbets.
The current Recession and excessive snowfall have inspired these snow cone recipes.
Whatever your choice, Bon Appetit from Tri-Lite!
