What a year! This time last year, I was merely a staff writer for the Tri-Lite and I was starting my run in the business school after changing my major. I truly cannot believe that only 365 days later, I've successfully headed 6 issues of the Tri-Lite, planned a spaghetti dinner for Freshman Experience (where I've served the great Dr. Leanne Owen as student mentor), raised over $750 for the Smile Train through that Spaghetti Dinner, managed a 4.0 last semester, lost my biggest fan, my beloved grandpop, and I somehow still manage to get up and go everyday. Not that I'm trying to brag, but it's truly amazing how much a person can grow in only a short time. To all of those of you who have helped me, because there is absolutely no way I could have done anything without your support, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'd like to thank all of those who have let me vent my frustration to them throughout this hectic year, and I thank you in advance for your continued strength to put up with me when I get only a few hours of sleep!

To all our graduating seniors, especially our wonderful writers, Eileen Grafenstine, Gina Stanish, and Joy Kicinksi, I wish you all the absolute best of luck in whatever comes your way! A wise man once said that life is the road traveled, not the destination. Enjoy your ride! Always remember that you're in control of your own destiny and no one can take that away from you!

To our fantastic Tri-Lite moderator, Denise, thank you for stepping up and helping us continue to grow! Although it may have been hectic at times, none of this could be possible without you, and I mean that completely. I'd also like to thank our former moderator, Laura Wukovitz, for not only teaching me so much in such a short time, but for also being so supportive of my efforts to raise funds for the Smile Train at the flea market and at the Spaghetti Dinner. We all miss you and we hope that you and your family are doing great!

To all students, staff, and administration, I hope that you all have a truly wonderful, well-rested summer! We have some very exciting things planned for the Tri-Lite next semester and as usual. We're always looking for new writers! We meet once a month to discuss that month's paper and we usually meet on Mondays at 12:30pm in CC202.

I'd also like to end on the positive note that next year will mark the 55th birthday of our beloved newspaper the Tri-Lite! To begin the festivities, we thought we'd add a few stories from the very first issue of the newspaper back in 1955! Enjoy and have a truly memorable summer!
