Words that have helped me through tough times in my life tend to come from music. I think the most powerful lyrics I've heard are in AudioSlave's song, "Be Yourself," which says, "Don't lose any sleep tonight. I'm sure everything will end up alright." I can't help but listen to this and many other songs to help me through the turmoil that tends to occur at the end of every semester. I can listen to the music as much as I like, but in the end I need to step up to the challenges that face me and perhaps make a sacrifice or two. One sacrifice would be to turn down the music so I can better concentrate. The other would be to remove some of the weight that I've placed on my own shoulders.

I am writing this as the last article I'll be typing for the Tri-Lite or at least as an official staff member. Perhaps I will contribute an article or two in the future, but it has become apparent to me that I have come to a point where it is best that I walk away. I had a great time sitting in the office discussing the paper and other kinds of nonsense such as why we can't throw snowballs inside the dorms and ways we can help our editor kick the habit of drinking an energy drink at least once every day. I am proud to have written plenty of articles which have been received well. Most importantly, I've met all kinds of wonderful people because of the Tri-Lite, and I hope to see them next semester and beyond.

The Tri-Lite has been an amazing experience for me, but I am not suited for the kind of work this paper needs. There are many great writers here, and when they leave, there will be more great writers to come. I do not wish to see the Tri-Lite fall, so I ask of the other writers to please continue to do their best. Thank you for all of the support and I wish everyone a great summer. Don't forget to relax and to let the power of music give you a smile or boost to succeed. I can assure you that during my three or four month break, I will listen to the song "I'm on a Boat" about fifty times. Have a good day.

Chris,

I have enjoyed every single story you've written for the Tri-Lite. Most of them have made me laugh out loud, sometimes to the bewilderment of those around me. (Continued…)
