On Wednesday October 31, 2007, 54 year old police officer Chuck Cassidy was gunned down at a Dunkin Donuts near 66th Avenue and Broad Street just before 10:30am that Wednesday. He was a 25 year veteran of the force. Cassidy was checking in on the store for a routine check.

This year, Holy Family will hold its first commencement ceremony in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, located in downtown Philadelphia. The ceremony will take place on Friday, May 23 with the celebration of both the graduate and undergraduate students.

As many of you know, Holy Family held the Second Annual Miss Holy Family Competition on Thursday, March 13th, 2008, right before Spring Break. This year, eleven of Holy Family's finest competed for the envied crown, sash, and title. Each girl was judged on her entrance with an escort of her choice, a tough question and answer, talent competition, evening wear, and a show and tell category, in which each contestant demonstrated something or someone that has significantly influenced her life.
